BIRMINGHAM, UK, Nov 1 - Delcam's FeatureCAM 2014 Service Pack 1 is now available for download.New features and enhancements in FeatureCAM 2014 SP1 includes:
- Vortex support in FeatureCAM: Vortex for pockets and bosses is available if 2D and FR are available so it is not available in 3D Lite, or with 2D alone. Vortex for Z-level roughing is available only for 3D HSM and not for lower-levels of 3D.
- Additional functionality for users of back-chamfering by creating a UDF. This is available from the website Addins page.
- Additional functionality for users of back-boring by creating a couple of common variants that are not covered by the native feature as UDFs. Also available from the website Addins page.
- Thin-wall milling UDF more flexible by allowing open curves to be specified. Provided an addin for customers needing very simple toolpaths for deburr operations, in particular Solar.
- Simplified workflow for all users by remembering the last tool group accessed and defaulting to that one the next time
- Improved clarity of part programming for multi-turret users by reflecting channel labels in the FeatureCAM user interface
- Ability to brand FeatureCAM with a partner's logo and a splash screen. Implemented via a resource DLL containing the two images. If the DLL exists with the correct resources then the brand occurs. Otherwise FeatureCAM runs as normal with no branding. How to get the DLL into the installation media is a separate project
- New option not to output retract to Z Index Clr for Smiths Bits' APT Post. This will enable FeatureCAM to output correct APT code for hole canned cycles that are not aligned with the Z-axis in RTCP
