MAYSVILLE, KY, Nov 15 - Marking the first new Simplicity release in five years, the all new and extremely versatile Simplicity Sight Survey 2014 is now available from Carlson Software.
Sight Survey 2014 will draw directly in MicroStation and is an effective companion product for Carlson Survey users working in the AutoCAD and IntelliCAD environments. Familiar commands such as Field-to-Finish, Contouring, Edit-Process Raw Data, and Network Least Squares work within Simplicity as they do within Carlson Survey.
"Companies with Carlson Survey working in the AutoCAD environment can now take the same field codes and coordinate data and produce virtually identical drawings in MicroStation, using Simplicity Sight Survey," says Bruce Carlson, president of Carlson Software. "This reduces the learning curve and creates greater efficiencies at firms that must produce deliverables on platforms spanning both DGN and DWG."
A Windows-based coordinate geometry program, Simplicity Sight Survey 2014 provides simplified methods for solving commonly encountered coordinate geometry and construction surveying problems. It is even capable of running without a CAD application, giving its users ultimate flexibility in a COGO program.
The entire package is a well orchestrated harmony of the two different programs, COGO and CAD and offers an economical choice to surveyors needing to import field-to-finish and other survey data directly to the CAD application or vice versa.
Carlson Simplicity Sight Survey works on six different versions of MicroStation V8 (all current versions) and offers Field-to-Finish routines that are identical whether working in Carlson Survey or MicroStation. And, it is updated to work with current releases of AutoCAD and IntelliCAD.
"With this new release, users get the ease of Simplicity combined with the power of Carlson Software," adds Carlson. "It's perfect for DOTs or for firms working with DOTs."

The menus, prompts, and help screens in Sight Survey are all designed to allow users to run the routines contained in the package without needing to regularly check the manual. As each routine runs, all data inputs are requested by screen prompts. The program also checks the responses for obvious errors and subsequently refuses most improper entries.
