ZW3D 2016 Released

GUANGZHOU, China, Mar 30, 2016 - ZW3D, one of the world's leading suppliers of advanced CAD/CAM solutions for the manufacturing industry, announced the availability of ZW3D 2016, a full-featured & pro-level CAD/CAM program designed for Product Design and Operations alike, to smoothen interaction and shorten time-to-market.

Like most of 3D CAD programs, ZW3D 2016 is embedded with numerous powerful & comprehensive functionalities, like new 3D sketch for efficient piping design, new alignment for quicker assembly and expansive FTI for much-advanced sheet metal etc., allowing mechanics & engineers to explore design ideas, visualize concepts, and simulate designs. It also includes some easy-to-learn & entry-level functions to link operation departments in the following approaches:

Import & Healing

Data interoperability matters a lot in product development. For the engineering department, the ability to reuse rather than re-create modeling data will save countless hours; for others, the ability to access internal and external data will minimize communication costs.

In ZW3D 2016, the built-in file translator ensures seamless data exchange with mainstream CAD programs, like Catia, NX, Creo, SoldWorks, STEP, JT, Parasolid and much more, in latest file formats. Plus, abundance of healing & freeform tools enables quick detection & restoration of imported models.

Drawing Review & Direct Edit

Model Checking is vital to safeguard the manufacturability & quality of products. For procurement, ZW3D can help calculate mass properties and stock size of geometries before purchasing; for CAD managers, a series of verification tools, like thickness analysis, interference check & dynamic section view, etc., are provided to inspect product structure and assembly reasonability before releasing the design data downstream.

Plus, with the much-more stable Direct Edit technologies in ZW3D 2016, the pinpointed problems in the previous checking process can be easily fine-tuned, if required.

3D Annotation

Annotating is to upgrade the paper-based collaboration into digital one. Engineers can define dimensions & annotations vividly on 3D models with the newly-developed PMI in ZW3D 2016, which allows their collaborators who don’t work with CAD to be highly engaged in product development. This will help speed up interaction, avoid project delays and boost productivity.

File Output

Offering proper files to corresponding users is crucial to the cross-department and cross-company interactions. ZW3D 2016 comes with much improved 2D sheet, delivering rapid and precise generation of various standard 2D sheets and BOM table from parts or assembly. Moreover, designs in ZW3D can be exported to STEP, IGES, STL, Parasolid, SAT, CATIA & 3D PDF files etc.

“This new release is our attempt to expand the reach of ZW3D,” said Colin Lin, Director of ZW3D Overseas Business. “By developing simple-to-learn & use solutions to both CAD users and ordinary people.”

SpaceClaim Engineer 2014 Released for 3D Direct Modelling

http://www.spaceclaim.com
CONCORD, MA, Dec 14 - SpaceClaim, the leading provider of flexible and affordable 3D modelling software for engineers, announced the immediate availability of SpaceClaim Engineer 2014. With advances in nearly every aspect of the software, from new tools and extended interoperability to significantly faster performance, this new release maintains the popular interface and intuitive work flow of SpaceClaim Engineer while introducing several benefits.

"We continue to invest every year in R&D to make SpaceClaim Engineer a better platform for design engineers, CAE analysts and manufacturing engineers to embrace the 3D modeling that was previously the sole domain of CAD experts," said Chris Randles, SpaceClaim CEO. "This version of SpaceClaim Engineer is our fastest, easiest, most flexible and most powerful release ever. It brings the benefits of 3D to a new level, with new modeling capabilities, and exciting new collaboration tools."

SpaceClaim Engineer 2014 brings faster performance for many functions throughout the software, including a 30 percent improvement in model load times and multi-threading support in several areas, including file import.

"I find SpaceClaim Engineer 2014 refreshingly enjoyable to use. I use it for generating novel, complex parts from scratch; it is an excellent modeling tool," said Hugo DeRrick, Principal Interdisciplinary Creative for Renishaw PLC. "We pride ourselves on creating innovative solutions to complex problems; SpaceClaim Engineer 2014 gives me the tools to do exactly that."

Tech Soft 3D Releases HOOPS Exchange, Publish 7.0

http://www.techsoft3d.com
BEND, OR, Nov 8 - Tech Soft 3D rounds out its cloud and mobile suite with the announcement of HOOPS Exchange 7.0 and HOOPS Publish 7.0. These releases enable engineering software developers to accurately translate CAD data quickly (HOOPS Exchange) or export 3D PDFs (HOOPS Publish), in either desktop or cloud environments.

"We hear again and again the need to quickly access data," says Germar Nikol, Director of Visualization Technologies at Kisters. "Tech Soft 3D allows us to deliver on that expectation by providing the fast, reliable underlying technology with HOOPS Exchange and HOOPS Publish that allows our customers to experience their data in the way that best fits their needs."

New features and updates in HOOPS Exchange 7.0 include:
  • Deep Model Interrogation: Developers will benefit from new APIs that build on the ability to query the length, surface and volume of geometries. These APIs can also perform an exact section of a model and a geometry compare between two revisions of the same model. In many application types, this ability to deeply interrogate geometry removes the need for an extra translation step into a modeling kernel
  • Comprehensive File Conversion: Users can access data from even the most recent releases of the leading CAD systems including the latest versions of SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Parasolid and the AP242 edition of STEP

New features and updates in HOOPS Publish 7.0 include:
  • New MBE Workflows: Enhancements specific to MBE workflows, including support for semantic (machine readable/searchable) PMI, as well as the ability to easily create a series of specific model views.
  • Animation Updates: Models can now be brought to life with new animation APIs, allowing for assembly instructions and simulations to be added directly within the 3D PDF file.
"We're proud to provide much of the underlying technology making the MBE movement possible and are thrilled to be helping so many desktop and cloud developers create solutions that can intelligently handle any type of CAD data and share that data with others," says Gavin Bridgeman, VP Products at Tech Soft 3D.

Pricing and Availability:

HOOPS Exchange and HOOPS Publish are both available for a free 60-day trial.
