3D Systems announces, Midwich will become the 3D printing company's largest distributor in the United Kingdom. Midwich plans to solidify 3D Systems' position as the 3D printing leader in the UK beginning with an aggressive pursuit of the education market. Midwich will begin distribution immediately of 3D Systems’ full line of professional and personal 3D printing solutions.
Midwich is the UK's leading trade-only distributor of technology solutions with more than 30 years of experience in the AV and IT channels. Midwich supplies a wide variety of consumer electronics, print imaging and audio visual products to leading resellers in the education, healthcare and retail industries. Midwich has established channels in the UK, Europe and Australia.
"We have been watching the growing interest in 3D printing for some time now and we are delighted to add what is, quite literally, a new dimension to our print portfolio," said Jonathon Francis, Business Manager at Midwich. "Costs now mean that it is possible for every school in the country (UK) to have some form of 3D printing equipment in the classroom and, with the government's recommendations for technology in schools, we expect demand for this technology to be high. We will also be distributing consumables, making Midwich a single source solution for 3D printing requirements."
3D Systems has been an early partner in education in both the United States and the UK, with recent partnerships and programs such as TCT’s Bright Minds education workshop in Birmingham, UK, made possible by the classroom-safe Cube 3D printer and Cubify's accompanying easy-to-learn design software. Michele Marchesan, Vice President & General Manager, Personal and Professional Printers at 3D Systems said: "We are excited to partner with one of the UK's most reputable distributors and to share alignment on aggressively pursuing education with game-changing solutions powered by 3D printing."
