VELIZY-VILLACOUBLAY, France, Nov 8, 2014 - Dassault Systems (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), the 3DEXPERIENCE Company, world leader in 3D design software, 3D Digital Mock Up and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, and Outscale, a global leader in cloud services, announced that Outscale cloud received ISO/IEC 27001:2013 security certification from BSI Group. This certification – recognition for information security management systems compliance – enables Outscale to offer a unique, fully operational and secure cloud platform that meets the highest global industry requirements.
Outscale’s optimized cloud architecture, unlike other cloud platforms, goes beyond simple data storage and computation. It was designed for the industry with customizable features. As part of its cloud portfolio, Outscale’s critical, high performance interactive applications encompass simulation, visualization of complex elements and data management while, in parallel, ensuring data security and traceability throughout the entire process, from initial data entry through to storage and transmission. The full platform also addresses security and regulatory parameters specific to local industrial processes.
“The internet, by nature, is international - a virtual environment without borders. While the cloud echoes this virtual environment, from certain industry perspectives, security, local laws and regulations must be respected during the industrial development process, and current cloud infrastructures don’t address this issue,” said Laurent Seror, founder and president of Outscale. “Our cloud platform takes the mystery out of security issues linked to regulations through tailored, secure architecture that is built in accordance with local laws.”
Dassault Systems, an initial investor in the company, relies on Outscale services to manage its on-the-cloud portfolio of solutions. With Outscale, Dassault Systems dedicates a highly specialized world class structure to ensure 24x7 service, and leverages dynamic cloud resources allocation to provide best availability of its 3DEXPERIENCE platform, globally.
“Since the inception of Outscale, founded by a leader of Dassault Systems, the two companies have shared the same vision: a cloud project that provides an efficient and one-of-a-kind structure to address end-to-end security and high performance for interactive 3D applications, and vast volumes of semantic-rich data,” explained Bernard Charlès, president and CEO, Dassault Systems. “Outscale represents a new generation of cloud for industry looking for comprehensive, secured and structured cooperation hubs, such as the one we have developed for the European aerospace industry.”
Outscale was founded in France in 2010 and developed by research and development engineers according to a global-local formula: an entrepreneurial mindset targeting an international customer base that must adhere to local laws and regulatory barriers. With over 800 customers and facilities in France and the USA, Outscale is planning to expand its operations internationally in order to reinforce its global presence.
