STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Dec 4 - Hexagon AB, leading global provider of design, measurement and visualization solutions, has acquired Pixis ("PIXIS": Consultoria, Soluciones de Ingeniera y Servicios PIXIS Ltda.), the exclusive distributor of Intergraph solutions in Chile and Peru since 1996.

Headquartered in Santiago Chile, Pixis is a leading provider of engineering software solutions and services, primarily serving clients in the metals & mining industry, which is predominantly copper-related in the region. Pixis has been instrumental with regional support of Intergraph PP&M's global client base as well as delivering services related to Hexagon's other businesses, from training to as-built plant modeling and data handover activities.

The Pixis acquisition advances Hexagon's expansion into the southern cone of South America, with a primary focus on Chile and Peru as the platform for future development. The addition of Pixis will not only directly benefit the Intergraph PP&M business but also accelerate implementation of Intergraph SG&I's offerings across the entire region. Having also acted as a representative for Intergraph SG&I for many years, Pixis has developed expertise in its portfolio, specifically in the areas of Utilities, Infrastructure and Public Safety.

"Adding Pixis to our direct sales footprint will enable Hexagon to better capitalize on the growing opportunities in mining and other Intergraph segments in Chile and Peru" said Hexagon President and CEO Ola Rollen. "Additionally, by working closely and integrating with our other operations across South America, Pixis will accelerate our ability to leverage the synergistic and complementary strengths of all our technologies and expertise in the region."

Pixis will be fully consolidated as of today. The acquisition has no significant impact on Hexagon's earnings.
