SHANGHAI, China, Dec 3 - AVEVA announced its release of a new business paper 'Diversification - The technology aspects.'* This paper explains how the latest generation of marine software can help to overcome the diversification challenges that shipbuilders face by integrating its many individual applications and datasets with those used in the plant industries.

'Diversification into offshore projects is vital for shipyards. The current shipbuilding market has stalled, but there is a tremendous business opportunity for shipbuilders in the offshore market. To capture this opportunity, shipbuilders will need to broaden their capabilities and increase design efficiency and cost effectiveness in production. AVEVA Marine is the game changer to enable this. Nearly 70% of our AVEVA Marine customers are already involved in offshore or navy projects,' said Bruce Douglas, Senior Vice-President, EDS Product Strategy & Marketing, AVEVA.

Offshore diversification was also high on the agenda at the recent AVEVA World Summit in Boston, where a number of AVEVA Marine customers shared their direct experiences on a wide range of offshore projects. At the Marintec China Maritime Conference and Exhibition, that takes place 3-6 December 2013 in Shanghai, China, AVEVA will be showcasing key software products that enable greater diversification for their marine industry customers. Products from the AVEVA Marine portfolio will be on show, as well as AVEVA NET and AVEVA Enterprise Resource Management (AVEVA ERM).
