FOTON Motors India Operations Selects Aras Innovator

ANDOVER, MA, USA and MUNICH, Germany, Mar 5, 2015 - Aras, the next leader in enterprise Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software, announced that Foton Motors Manufacturing India Private Limited (FIO), has selected the Aras Innovator suite for enterprise Bill of Materials (BOM) management, product costing and engineering data management. Foton Motor Co. Ltd is one of the world’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturers and the company is setting up a new factory in Chakan near Pune, India to produce commercial vehicles for the India market.

Foton will implement multiple Aras solutions, for document management, CAD file management, BOM management and product costing management. Working with Aras authorized system integration partner SteepGraph Systems, Foton will implement Aras Innovator for improved collaboration between product development teams and downstream functions including manufacturing and supply chain operations.

Foton India plans to manufacture and launch a range of vehicles in India. Foton India is in the process of the design and development to localize existing products for the Indian market from Foton China including product development activities both in-house and with the collaboration of suppliers.
